WSS 2011 CNC Turning Gold Medallist

Competition Area : CNC Turning

1) Why did you decide to join WorldSkills Singapore?

I joined WorldSkills Singapore because I wanted to gain more experience on CNC Technology which will be useful for me in the future.

2) What has the training for the competition been like?

It’s has been tough for me as I have to study as well as to train for the competition. But I am fully committed to do well in both aspects.

3) What have you learnt so far?

I had learnt a lot on CNC Technology and also how to manage my times; I also learnt to get along with my training mates well.

4) Do you encounter any obstacles in your training? How do you overcome these obstacles?

Definitely, I do face a lot of obstacles during in my training, e.g. lack of technical knowhow and stress to perform well between study and competition. But with the help from my classmates, my coaches and my school, I am able to cope with all these obstacles.

5) What are your aspirations for the finals of the competition? Do you set any targets for yourself?

I will do my best in the final and my target for this competition is to get the Gold medal so that I can represent Singapore in the world event.

6) What do you hope to learn from this whole experience?

I hope to gain more knowledge and improve my skills set during this whole competition period.
